EBN Artist Next Up: FCL Bally

Where are you from?: I was born in Toronto, Ontario, and currently live in London, Ontario.

How long have you been making music?: I have been making music seriously for about 8 months now.

What are some trials and tribulations you go through as an artist?: There are times I feel really unmotivated to make music if a track doesn’t perform as well as I thought it would, but then something positive happens in my music career that pushes me to keep going.

Do you feel like you’ve developed your sound?: I believe I have developed my sound when I use my normal flow, however, whenever I use my melodic flow I can sound different depending on the type of song I am making. I feel like my melodic sound is very similar to 24kgoldn because we can sound different on many tracks that we produce.

Describe your musical style in three words: [My three words are] Unique, Real, and True.

If you had to write a novel based on your life what would the name of it be?: Destined for Greatness.

What is a quote that you were told or that you came up with that you will never forget?: A quote my team and I came up with is “For Creating a Legacy”. It’s a quote and a movement in my team and I’s eyes where we keep pushing and never give up no matter how troubled times may be.

Who are the artists that influenced you to make music?: I’ve been influenced by A Boogie and Trippie Redd to make music because they’re both very talented artists and always push for greatness.

What is some advice you’d give to an independent artist trying to develop their sound?: I’d tell them to keep trying different styles of rapping and once they find a vocal range they can consistently reach a flow they sound the best in to pursue and push that sound. Collaborate with other artists and make music about things that actually have occurred to them.
