Where are you from: I am from North Carolina. I was born in Bridgeport Connecticut. My parents moved to North Carolina when I was one-year-old.

How long have you been making music?: I’ve been putting out music for about six years now. I’ve always been into music though. I’ve been singing since a toddler. I wrote my first rap song when I was fourteen years old.

What are some trials and tribulations you go through as an artist?: I go through writers block [at times]. Sometimes I can listen all day to a beat I made and just enjoy it, but struggle to come up with verses for my beats. [However], I think it’s best when I freestyle my songs.

Do you feel like you’ve developed your sound?: I feel like as an artist, I’m always growing into something better than I was the last time I put out a song. I can be a beast to say the least. I love to harmonize, write and spit bars.

Describe your musical style in three words: Unique, catchy and determined. My musical style is full of many melodies, determination and fun and it’s like I’m the cool girl that everyone can vibe with. I love rap, Pop, R&B, and also Gospel.

If you had to write a novel based on your life what would the name of it be?: I think a good title for my novel would be The Real Journey of SaraSoUnique.

What is a quote that you were told or that you came up with that you will never forget?: “Winners never quit and quitters never win.” I remember seeing it for the first time at school on the wall. It stuck with me to this day.

What are your three biggest accomplishments up to this point? One is releasing my first single called “Runnin’ Up the Check” on all major streaming platforms. Another one is being noticed for my talent by huge musical artist like Lady Luck, Eli X and more. My presence online has grown way bigger in one year than it has in the last 5 years. You can search me on Google.

Who are the artists that influenced you to make music?: Music is something that has always been a part of me. I don’t recall when I was inspired by a specific artist to do music. I acted like I was a superstar when I was seven, maybe younger. I’ve always loved the way music sounded since before elementary days. I am inspired today by skillful artists like Future, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Skillet, Deitrick Haddon, just to name a few.

What is some advice you’d give to an independent artist trying to develop their sound?: Be yourself and build from there. Record yourself. Always listen to the way you sound and have fun with it. You’ll see what adjustments you need or want to take.
